After spending three weeks as a visiting artist studying composition with Nicole Mitchell at the Atlantic Center for the Arts, I am debuting new compositions for four different ensembles. Each performance is free and open to the public. This residency has been made possible with support from the Luminarts Cultural Foundation.

“Grit” is a new set of compositions written for a more traditional jazz quintet. The music explores the boundaries of melodic and rhythmic consonance and dissonance.
